CAPITAL FUND CAMPAIGN
President's Logo

In October 2006, the West Potomac Crew Boosters approved a Capital Fund Campaign. The intent of the Capital Fund is to raise money to support the funding of identifiable capital expenses like a new boathouse, racing shells, launch boats, and facilities. We project that over the next ten years we will purchase new shells every other year costing approximately $30,000 each as well as funding construction of an off-season storage facility, which we expect will cost over $100,000. Our goal for 2010-11 is $50,000.

We ask that you consider a tax deductable donation to the West Potomac Crew Capital Fund. The easiest way to do this is by visiting our web site at www.wpcrew.org and clicking on the appropriate Capital Fund menu box on the right side. Donations may be made either by check or directly on line using Pay Pal. In addition to the donation forms, additional information is available about the fund including forms for soliciting donations from other friends, relatives, businesses, etc.

We are looking forward to an excellent season this year. We have enjoyed a strong turnout for our winter conditioning program and expect the number of rowers in our spring crew program to grow significantly over last year. Additionally, Fairfax County Public Schools has announced it will discontinue freshman county-sponsored sports programs next year. Since crew does not receive funding from Fairfax County Public Schools it will be unaffected so we expect many freshman athletes will consider joining our program next year. We believe the future in bright for the West Potomac Crew program!

Thanks again for your past, present and future support. Through the Capital Fund, you can help to keep West Potomac Crew strong.

Sincerely,

Carolyn Liebeck
