DUES

DUES POLICY

Rower conditioning and training begins in earnest in mid-November. New rowers start on November 12, 2007, and returning rowers start November 14. Rower dues, either paid partially or in full, need to be made by November 11. Annual dues for the 2007- 2008 season are $575. For families with more than one crew member, dues are reduced by $50 for each additional member.

In order to include rowers in winter training for insurance and other reasons, they must be paid members of WPCB. A minimum payment of $175 must be sent to Susan Kuhbach by November 11 (7202 Rebecca Drive, 22307). Checks should be made payable to "WPCB."

For the 2007/2008 season, we are hoping that other athletes will join in our winter conditioning program. If you are planning to play another Spring sport, but would like to get the benefits of the Crew Conditioning Program, the charge is $175. These training sessions will be held from mid-November through mid-February.

We are also planning to include current 8th graders in our Spring practices and scrimmages. The fee to participate for these "rising" rowers is $400.

Full dues must be paid by February 3, 2008 (the date of the Winter Membership Meeting).

In an effort to make the dues more affordable, the BOD has approved several financial assistance programs. These programs are briefly discussed as follows:

  • Donor Incentive Program: provides the opportunity to accumulate credit towards dues amounting to 10% of any and all contributions solicited by and attributable to individual Crew and WPCB members. These contributions can be made by individual members, friends and associates, or business affiliations. For interested members, additional information, forms and letters to assist in this effort are located under the donations tab on this website.

  • Payment Schedule: allows families to pay in incremental partial payments rather than all at one time.

  • Financial Hardship Waiver (FHW): available on a need basis.

Note: Tax deductions for contributions by individual rowers reduced by amount credited toward dues. Amounts credited toward reduction of an individual rower's dues from contributions other than from rower must be reported as income to the IRS.

All payment options can be discussed in confidence with our Treasurer, Ellen Meyer, 703.799.7524 or eastellen@aol.com.
